《富贵逼人》主要角色定位为形形色色的富人——这其中有百手起家的富人、高素质的时代精英富人、为富不仁的富人、海外归来对中国国情一无所知的富人、一夜暴富的富人、曾经挥金如土现在却一无所有的前富人、虚荣装富的伪富人等，通过揭示他们的“囧事”，一方面，利用和满足观众在一定程度上的仇富心态和猎奇心理，引爆收视点，另一方面，让观众了解到富豪生活中也难免尴尬搞笑，从而拉进各个社会阶层之间的距离。
