本剧讲述的是：曾经是火红童星的林维真，因长大而丧失明星光环，人生跌入谷底。而传奇音乐製作人周书宇正值人生巔峰，经他製作的歌手、专辑无不卖座成名。负分维真与满分书宇，原本八竿子打不著的逊咖与A咖竟在人生归零时相遇了。维真带著一首乐曲闯进书宇的世界裡，导致书宇在如日中天之际遭到女友杨佳欣及左右手徐立达的背叛，失去了一切，而老是闯祸的维真竟是唯一愿意跟他走的人，前途艰险，两人究竟要如何才能重返巔峰？迈向A咖的路。
艾丽丝（谢欣颖 饰）在公司里有着“机器人”的外号，因为她真的就好像一个机器人一样，做任何事情都循规蹈矩按部就班，没有一丝的人情味儿，虽然艾丽丝能够将上司布置下的任务完美的完成，但却始终得不到同事的喜爱和尊重。
李修贤本片扮演贫民区出身的便衣刑警阿B，为人耿直，行事作风具争议性。他的搭档阿杰则是规距青年，富上进心。两人因为出身与个性不同，执勤时格格不入，但阿B办案的耐心负责态度让阿杰逐渐产生敬佩之感。黑仔是阿B童年好友，因贩毒杀人遭阿B通缉。阿B在追捕歹徒时误杀小童，心理受到莫大压力。阿杰给予友情开解，力促他一齐逮捕黑仔归案。不料阿杰竟在行动时被枪杀，令阿B对警察生涯不胜唏嘘。
故事发生于魔兽始祖弥赛亚被消灭（包括《白夜的魔兽》《红色安魂曲》的时间段）后，依然有魔兽的存在并利人的阴我（欲望）来吞噬人类的肉体以及心灵，前作的主角冴岛钢牙离开了东番犬所，成为了元老院所属的魔戒骑士，在执行任务时被一位神秘的面具人打伤并留下了“破灭の刻印”，故事由此展开……
本剧由《莫斯探长前传 Endeavour》主创Russell Lewis负责，改编自Peter James的「Roy Grace」小说系列。首季由2个120分钟的故事组成，分别改编自小说《Dead Simple》及《Looking Good Dead》。
