英国Sky Atlantic、法国Canal+与美国HBO联合制作影集《年轻教宗》（The Young Pope）由奥斯卡提名男星裘德洛（Jude Law）主演、奥斯卡最佳外语片《绝美之城》编导保罗索伦提诺（Paolo Sorrentino）打造，播出后获不少好评，制作人曾宣布会有第二季。不过日前拍摄计划生变，改成推出《新教宗》（The New Pope）作为续篇影集。
本劇由夏于喬、張棟樑、路斯明、樓庭岑領銜主演。 本劇已於2015年6月18日殺青，民視無線台預計於2015年8月30日起每週日晚上10點首播，東森綜合台預計於2015年9月5日起每週六晚上11點30分播出。
