该剧摒弃了传统意义的喜剧笑点，大胆创新，采用肢体表演和行为夸张的默剧艺术，在一众只靠着“冷笑话”的语言网络剧中，脱颖而出。启用中国版憨豆先生杨金赐作为第一男主角，加之由关凌、杨洋、李祥祥、Reborn、尹熙水、居来提、张艺瀚等一众明星大力加盟。
2014年6月24日宣布漫画的动画化，于2014年7月6日开始放送。
《街角少年》从三个人物的视角展开剧情，探索了巴西圣保罗的音乐、犯罪和宗教世界。多尼、南多和丽塔在同一个贫民区长大，深受放克乐、毒品走私和福音教派的影响。虽然他们之后走上了不同的道路，但是这三个儿时的伙伴最终认识到，他们必须相互依赖、相互支持，才能一路向前，实现自己的梦想。
